The City of Paducah and McCracken County will hold its annual spring clean-up day for City and County residents on Saturday, April 10, 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to dispose of various types of solid waste and household hazardous waste. All residents must bring proper identification (driver’s license) to verify residency. This is a FREE event, rain or shine.
In cooperation with CWI of Kentucky and Martin Tire, solid waste will be accepted at the CWI Transfer and Recycling Station at 829 Burnett Street. Items that will be accepted include general household solid waste, tires, and white goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners). Refrigerators and air conditioners must be free of Freon. Medical waste will not be accepted. All loads need to be covered with a tarp. To maintain the traffic flow, residents need to enter the CWI Transfer Station from North 10th Street and Burnett Street. Traffic will not be allowed to enter CWI from 8th Street or 9th Street.
In cooperation with American Environmental Services, Inc., household hazardous waste will be accepted at 850 Burnett Street near the intersection with North 10th Street. There is a limit of 10 gallons per household, and all material must be in its original container. Materials that will be accepted include light bulbs, weed killers, household insecticides, cleaners, paint, adhesives, solvents, batteries, and used motor oil.
