Dan
Boaz has served as McCracken County Attorney since 1997. Before
taking a position as a full-time Assistant McCracken County
Attorney in 1991 with Fred H. Grimes, Dan was in private practice with
his father, Samuel S. Boaz, in the old Citizen's Bank Building.
Dan's father practiced law for over fifty years. Dan's
grandfather, Seth T. Boaz,Sr., also practiced law for over fifty years
and served as the Graves County Attorney in the 1920s. Dan had
three uncles: Seth T. Boaz,Jr.; Harry H. Boaz; and Malcolm R. Boaz who
practiced law in Mayfield, Ky. Malcolm was the Graves County
Attorney in the early 1960s. Another uncle, Shadrach W. Boaz was
admitted to practice law, but died on the beaches of Omaha on D-Day
before having the opportunity to actively practice. Dan graduated
from Paducah Tilghman High School; Murray State University; and Chase
Law School. He is married to Heidi Hashemi Boaz and they have a
son - Shadrach H. Boaz who is a student at Murray State.
