Building plan review and inspection fees shall be based upon the square foot size of buildings or structures as measured to the outside of exterior walls and other supports, and according to their use group as listed in said code and in accordance with (a) through (g) below.

Fee for use groups A-1, A-2, A-3, B, E, M and R shall be $.15 per sq. ft. for first floor at or

above grade and $.10 per sq. ft. for other floor areas.

Fee for use groups A-4, A-5, and I shall be $.10 per sq. ft. for all floor areas.

Fee for use group F shall be $.07 per sq. ft. for all floor areas.

Fee for use groups S and U shall be a minimum of $20.00 for floor areas up to and including 200 sq. ft. or a minimum of $40.00 for areas from 200 sq. ft. up to and including 400 sq. ft. plus $.05 per sq. ft. for all floor areas above 400 sq. ft.

Fee for remodeling of any use group shall be according to cost with a minimum

fee of $40.00 for up to and including $5,000 of construction cost, or $40.00 plus $4.00 for

each addition $1,000 of cost or fractional part thereof above $5,000 cost.

A fee of $20.00 shall be charged for permits on buildings that are inspected under the

jurisdiction of the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction.

The McCracken County Inspection Department is hereby authorized to and shall have the

responsibility for setting a reasonable inspection fee for any other use or special inspection

which may be required by said Code or directive from the Kentucky Department of Housing,

Buildings and Construction.

EXCEPTION 1. Fee for building shell only shall be at 50% of fee for its use group above.

2. Fee for a mixed use building shall be according to the highest per square

foot fee of any one use group included within said building.

Fees for electrical inspections and issuing the Certificate of Compliance required by said building

code shall be charged to each person owning or having electrical work inspected. The following

are the fees for said service to wit:

Single family dwelling units, new construction or complete rewire of same, fee shall be $.05

per sq ft. of living area or $75.00 minimum. Additions shall be at $.05 per sq. ft. of living

area or $40.00 minimum for up to 800 sq. ft.

Multi-family dwelling units, up to and including six units of new construction, fee shall be

$60.00 per unit. Over 6 units the fee shall be $360.00 plus $.05 per sq. ft. of additional

building area.

(c) Fees for manufactured homes, detached garages, accessory buildings, farm buildings,

swimming pools, railroad crossing signals, communication booster stations, and billboard

signs shall be $40.00 each.

Temporary services, pole services and campers shall be $20.00

Fees for all other construction shall be $75.00 for up to and including $5,000 cost of electrical work, or $75.00 plus 1 per cent of cost above $5,000 up to and including $50,000 of cost, or $525.00 plus ½ per cent of all electrical work above $50,000 of cost.

The McCracken County Inspection Department is hereby authorized to and shall have the responsibility for setting a reasonable inspection fee for any wiring, device, apparatus, or equipment requiring electrical inspection pursuant to this ordinance, which is not specifically covered herein.
